Christmas Gift Ideas for Family

So this is the 2nd post in my Christmas series and so here I am with gift ideas for family members.

So for family members I would recommend things to remind them of memories. Maybe find a nice photo frame and put a really nice family photo in it. Or maybe me a calendar with family photos in it. Just make something with a family photo in it and I'm sure it will mean a lot to whichever family member receives it. Or maybe a family photo album.

However, if you have a younger family member you are buying for just buy something that fits their hobbies, interests or likes because they probably won't appreciate photos as much as parents, aunties, uncles or grandparents.

You don't have to include family photos though, other ideas could include...
-Cook Books
-Hobby Books
-Family Movies with popcorn and other treats
-Relaxation/Spa kit
-Offering to tidy or do chores for them
-Offering to babysit
-Vouchers to go out for lunch or something
-Vouchers to their fave clothing store (especially parents who may not get the opportunity to buy new clothes often)
-Fave CD's, movies or books
-DIY Gifts (look on pinterest for ideas)
-Coupon Booklet to do jobs for them and help them out

Anything Really, Whatever the person likes.

Thanks,

Christmas Wishlist 2015

Hey Guys, so I've decided to share my Christmas Wishlist with you so here we go.

Now, Just before I start I would like to say that I know I won't get everything on this list and that is completely ok, it doesn't bother me, these are just some things that I would quite like to get. The Period Tag

So here I am with the period tag and so yeah... let's get started

1. When did you start(age)?
I was 13 and 2 months when I had a really super light period for like 2 days in August 2013 but now that I look back I think it might have been spotting and think my actual first period was in November 2013 when I was 13 and 5 months.

2. Where did you start?
In August I was at home and in November it was the end of the day at school so my liner was enough to avoid leakage before I got home to put a pad on.

3. How did you feel about it?
Really confused, excited, nervous, just a range of emotions because I didn't really know what to think.

4. Who did you tell first?
In August I didn't tell anyone and mum guessed because of the stains in my underwear and in November I told mum on like the 3rd or 4th day via text.

5. What period products did/do you use?
I used Libra Girl Regular pads and also Stayfree Light Pads

6. Are your cycles regular?
Yeah they started to become regular this year

7. What is your favorite product?
For liners I really like U by Kotex Protect Liners and for Pads I don't really have a favourite. I do like using my cloth pads a lot though.

8. Are your periods heavy?
My periods are somewhat heavy. My 1st day is regular, 2nd is heavy, 3rd is regular and then they get lighter from then.

9. How long are your periods?
My periods are usually 5 or 6 days long and my period usually comes every 25 days or so. Although my last period came 2 days later than usual and was in sync with 4 of my friends.

10. Do you get cramps?
Sometimes but not always and they usually go away soon enough

11.Do you get PMS and if so what?
About a week before my period my breasts get really tender but only for like a day or 2. I also crave chocolate and often have really itchy breasts.

12. What is your most embarrassing period moment?
My most embarrassing period story is from my last period which was last week. So I was in English and I was wearing a pad. It was last period and about half way through the lesson and I noticed the room smelt like blood and just like a period so I twisted my skirt a bit and noticed a bit of a stained patch and after that I was freaking out for the rest of the lesson (I didn't have any pads in my bag because I had already changed twice and my period was a lot heavier than I thought it would be). Thank goodness it was last period and that the stain was slightly to the side because I just twisted my skirt a bit so that the stain was on the side and so that I could use my violin to cover the stain. I am so glad no one saw it!😒😒😒

Hey!

Hi! So sorry for the lack of pretty much everything. The lack of videos. The lack of posts.

I would like to start by saying thank you so much! I now have 101 subscribers and I am shocked. I haven't posted videos for 5 months yet still got like 20 new subs in that time. I am really considering posting videos again but I don't know yet. I barely get requests so never really know what sorts of things to post although if I start posting videos again I would really like to kick it off with something creative like a routine video or a food video. I really hope to get back into it because I really like helping people and had fun filming videos and I kind of miss it. So keep an eye on my channel because I want to make a come back and I want it to be a good video so yeah! Although what confuses me is that I never really had a reason to not film apart from maybe the fact I don't get much time home alone and that school work is my priority but aside from that I do end up with quite a bit of spare time and I hope to make good use of that so yeah...

Thanks for all of my subscribers, you mean so much to me and I really hope I can be back to help you.

Apology...

Hi... Yes it's me and I'm sorry you haven't heard from me in a while. I haven't had much time to film and I lost my old phone with my KiwiGirlHelp kik on it so I no longer have a channel kik. The last time most of you would've heard from me would be if you follow my channel instagram -Kiwigirlhelp. I'll probably be using that more than anything else so be sure to follow me on instagram if you still want advice from me.

So I probably won't be using my youtube channel much, maybe every now and then but not as much as I did most of last year. I might do the odd vlog or something on my phone or videos occasionally but it really depends if I get more time to film or not but I'm not going to make any video promises. I'm really sorry about this but I'm keeping all of my videos up so if you need any help you can still go and view my old videos.

For my instagram it will be used for my usual posts but since I am probably going to get braces this year I am also going to use it as a progress blog type thing so I can look back on it and see how my teeth changed over the time. I still have to go for a consultation so I have no idea when I'm getting braces but hopefully I will go for a consultation in the next couple of months.

Also my lack of posts and stuff is partially because I have been busy lately with school. I'm in 2 choirs, orchestra, a flute group for a competition and have to prepare a flute solo performance for my music class this term, I'm a year 10 (second year high school in NZ) and am pretty much working at a level higher than my year group. I'm doing year 11 courses for Social Science, Science and Maths so have practise exams coming up in a few weeks. I'm also doing a bit of year 11 English but am not doing any exams for English. This is certainly keeping me busy so I think I'll be a bit busy until the end of this year probably.

I am sorry about this and hope you understand but this won't be the last time I'll post on here. I'll still post just not as often.

Thanks,
KiwiGirlHelp

A short message

Hi Girls, so I'm sorry for the lack of videos but I started back at school last Friday for a part day and then fully on Monday and got homework on Monday and I always have to revise for Science.

I would like to continue by thanking you for 80 subs on my youtube channel!!! That is amazing and I am getting even closer to 100. Can we get to 100 before my birthday in June??? It's hard to believe 80 people watch my videos which is like having 3 classes at school watching my videos. It's unreal and I can't wait to see how far I will have come at the end of this year.

Something else I would like to share because it could effect my ability to post videos this year, is that I got into the top class for my year. My science teacher expects us to revise each night because we have small revision tests every day. I will also have more studying to do as we get towards the end of the year (October/November) because I will be doing Year 11 Exams in year 10. So that means 3 hour exams for me this year...

Anyway, I think that's all I have to say. I will hopefully get some videos up this weekend so keep an eye out for those.

Thanks,

How to keep your binder tidy and organised...

I am going to try to use a binder this year and it isn't all that common at my school but I do have my usual books to so I think I might focus on using my binder for important notes and for things about my end of year exams. Although I really am not sure exactly what I'm going to use it for yet but I still have a bunch of tips on keeping your binder organised.

So you have your binder and your not really sure what sorts of things you can put in it and ways to keep in organised?

First I would suggest buying or making some tab dividers so that you can use them to separate different subjects or sub-topics within a subject. The amount of tab dividers you will need in your binder will depend on how many binders you are using and how many subjects/topics you have.

In a 1 inch binder you can fit 200 pieces of refill in it but I would suggest putting a little less than that in it if you have a 1 inch binder, but if you have a bigger binder then don't fill it completely and just give yourself a little extra space to put other stuff in it such as tab dividers, maybe a little binder pencil case/pouch thing or maybe a folder that clips into the binder or anything else that you can buy that clips into a binder.

Depending on how many tab dividers you have in the binder will depend on how much refill you should put in each section but just evenly divide it between the amount of sections. I put around 25 sheets in each of my 6 sections although they won't all be in my binder at once so it comfortably fits my little homemade pencil holder things.

I also made a DIY whiteboard thing and made a cover thing for it so that the whiteboard markers don't just wipe off easily. I blu-tacked the whiteboard to the inside of the front cover. I plan to put my timetable, a homework to do list and a reminders section on my whiteboard. This way I can easily check what subject I have next and when I get home I have an easy to access list of all of my homework to complete.

Keep you binder tidy so that things are easy to access. If your binder is starting to look messy then just tidy things up a bit so that things are all in the right order and so that everything is easy to find. You could also get some folders, whether you have just one at the end for all of your loose papers or one for each of your sections so that loose papers and handouts are all nicely tucked away together so that they don't fall out or get messed up and so that you don't have to carry a hole punch around with you all the time.

I would suggest 1 inch binders because the refill opens up completely without you having to tear the pages off. This would keep it organised and tidy because there won't be a bunch of loose papers that will easily fall out when the holes start to tear. It will also keep things organised because you can write in it like a book so everything will be in the right order.

Another idea I have if you have 1 binder that you take to school is to get another binder to keep extra stuff in.
Say you have Maths, English, Science and 2 other subject in your binder so 5 all up and you only have Maths and English that day, put the other 3 sections in your spare binder so that you only have what you need and aren't carrying around extra weight that you don't need. You could maybe get one of the bigger binders for your spare one so that you can keep extra refill and stuff in it.

So that is all the tips I have for now, if you have any other tips feel free to share them in the comments...

Back to School - Studying Tips

I'm pretty sure that at most NZ High School you do exams all through High School although in your first 2 years you don't do the national exams you just do small subject exams for your core subjects (Well at my school anyway). NZ High Schools start in Year 9 and finish in Year 13. Most people start High School the year they turn 14 but if your birthday is in January, February or sometimes even March you usually start the year you turn 13 (Not sure why but that's just how it is).

Just for my international readers Year 9 in NZ is equivalent to...(sorry if these a slightly off but I did a bit of research and I'm pretty sure these are correct)
USA - 8th Grade
Aussie - Year 8
Canada - 8th Grade
England - Year 9

I just used my 4 more common international areas for the equivalents but yeah.
I was in year 9 last year and had a fantastic first year of High School and we had exams in our 4 core subjects (Maths, English, Social Science and Science). I thought the exams were easy and passed them all with top marks even though I didn't do a whole lot of studying. Although this year I am seriously going to study to get into good habits for my senior years (Years 11-13) at High School. I really do need to study a lot this year though especially if I get into the top class for my year and do the year 11 exams a year early. I would recommend studying especially if you know that you aren't the best when it comes to school.

I thought I would share some studying tips with you, to help you out in 2015 if you are starting to do exams at your school.

Tip #1 - Take short breaks frequently
Take short breaks (5-10 minutes after every 20-30 minutes or so), That way you won't be studying for hours on end without doing anything in between because chances are you will be getting bored and not taking as much information in as when you started.

Tip #2 - Exercise
Why not do a little bit of exercise during your breaks to help get the blood flowing, or just get a bit of fresh air during your breaks.

Tip #3 - Food and Drinks
Make sure to have some healthy snacks with you. I would suggest to also keep a glass of water near you to keep you hydrated while you study. I may do a video on healthy snack ideas when my exams come along this year but 1 snack recommendation I have is carrot, celery and/or capsicum sticks with hummus.

Tip #4 -- Colour
If you are a visual learner and learn things visually, you may want to consider using colourful pens, highlighters, sticky notes and other bright things to help you to remember important things.

Tip #5 - Recording
If you are a audio learner and learn things by hearing them, why don't you ask if you can record lessons or why not record yourself reading your notes and then listen to them when you are in the car, during lunch, when you wake up or whenever.

Tip #5 - Hand Gestures
My science teacher last year often made us learn simple hand gestures to help us remember the order in which we had to do things for experiments. So maybe you could try that. It won't work for all things but you could just play around and see what you can come up with to help you remember things.

Tip #6 - Quizzes
Why don't you make fun little quizzes to do with your friends to help you find out what you know and what you need to work on.

Tip #7 - Flash Cards
Why don't you try making flash cards for you and some friends, this is like the quiz and will help you to find out what you understand and what you don't understand.

Tip #8 - Songs
If you are musical like myself you could try and find some songs to help you to remember what you need to know for an exam. For example, if you needed to know the first 10 or 20 elements of the periodic table, you could learn part of the ASAP Science Periodic Table song to help you memorize the elements.

Tip #9 - Friends
Try studying with a buddy. I would suggest studying with a friend of the same ability that way you can both work together instead of one person doing all the teaching while the other listens. Of course you could help your friends if you are ahead of them and maybe if your friends are ahead of you, you could consider asking them if they would tutor you. You could even pay them a little bit or give them something to thank you but if they are your true friends they probably won't expect anything in return.

#Tip 10 - Ask Google
Use this as a last resort if you really don't understand something.

Thanks, hope this helps you out.

Back to School - Bullying

Bullying. Bullying is repetitive and is horrible experience for the victims. I would like to help spread awareness so if any of you have been through, are going through or know someone who is going/has through bullying, I would really appreciate it if you could share your story.

I will share your stories on either my youtube channel or here on my blog but will be keeping stories anonymous so that no one will know who sent each story. I will make sure not to share the names to each story so that way no one will know that it is your story.

So if you have a story and want to help spread awareness then you can share it with me via...

Email - kiwigirlhelp@gmail.com
Instagram - Kiwigirlhelp (DM me)
Kik - KiwiGirlHelp

or you could message me on youtube messages.

I would like to get as many stories as I can to help people to understand what bullying can lead to and so people know to help others dealing with bullying. I was mildly bullied when I was younger but I will share my story when I get some other stories from you who have been bullied whether it was only mild or if it was quite severe. It still affects you somehow.

I will probably share the stories next month when I go back to school so make sure to share your stories before that and remember they will be anonymous.

Next month you can expect a post on dealing with being bullied so yeah...

Thanks,

Back to School - Crushes

Crushes. They are something most girls and boys deal with as they start to go through puberty. They can sometimes be annoying because you feel as though you can't talk to the person normally and sometimes you are worried that they will find out that you like them. It can often be so heartbreaking when you discover that they don't feel the same about you. Crushes can also be a distraction and distract you from more important things in life.

My first tip is to not let them be a distraction. Focus on your school work and other things that is more important then worrying about what that certain someone thinks of you.

Also, try to become friends with the person and just get to know them. That way if things don't work out or you find someone else you can still be friends. If the guy is nice, he won't mind if you like him and just get on with life as if he didn't even know.

Only tell friends you trust a LOT unless you want a whole bunch of people to find out. I've told people that I really shouldn't have told and trust me I'm pretty sure my entire class knew.

If they don't feel the same way back, just move on. There are plenty of other people out there and you aren't limited to just one.

Don't spend your time worrying about what they think about you and stop over-thinking things. Just because they accidentally bumped into you or liked your photo or something it doesn't mean they like you. I mean they might, but it doesn't always mean that. I might do a video on How to tell if a guy likes you later on this year.

I know this was rather short but I really didn't know what else to put so I thought I would keep this short.

so...

Back to School - Getting your Period in Class

I have a video on this so I thought I might do a bit of a post on it too.
So you are sitting in class and you feel a strange gush or dampness down there. It's your period. What do you do? Do you ask to go to the bathroom? Or do you wait until the class is over? No you have to go now before anything bad happens. Some teachers are very strict when it comes to students going to the bathroom during class especially tests. With the right words you may be allowed to go, so here I am to help.

My first piece of advice is to wear liners if you are due or expecting your period. I would recommend the U by Kotex Protect Liners. These liners have saved me from embarrassment a lot so I would definitely suggest you go and buy some of them. So yeah if you wear liners and get your period then hopefully they will be able to save you until you can get to the bathroom. Although if you have a heavy flow, I would suggest getting to the bathroom as quickly as you possibly can.

I would also suggest waiting until the middle of the class if it happens near the beginning of class because teachers usually won't let you go to the bathroom near the beginning or end of class.

If you really desperately need to go right now, I would suggest just going and simply saying "May I please go to the bathroom?" It's as simple as that, most teachers will say yes especially if they are female because it is very likely they have gone through this as well.

You've just received the dreaded no but you really have to go. This is when you should say things like "It's a girl emergency" or "Period". It really depends on what you are comfortable with. You could also maybe have your period kit in your hand while you ask and maybe gesture to it or slightly open it so they can see inside but again this depends on what you are comfortable with.

Negotiate. Maybe they have said no because you have work to finish so you could maybe say "Well can I go when I've finished _________"

Ask then why you can't go and maybe try and correct it so that you can go to the toilet.

If you desperately then just say "I'm going to pee myself if I don't go now" or if you have a female teacher say "You know what it's like now can I just go to the bathroom" or "I won't be long"

Maybe you could ask to go to the sickbay/nurses office or whatever and then instead of going there go to the bathroom or go to the bathroom there if there is one.

That is all of my tips for getting your period in class and for when your teacher won't let you go.

Thanks,
KiwiGirlHelp

Back to School - Tips for waking up Early

Hi Girls, Back to School is coming quickly in NZ and so here is another Back to School themed Post for you. It is going to be tips for waking up earlier. Hope these tips and tricks will help you so let's get started...

Now, I have always been an early riser waking up between 6 and 7 every morning pretty much without fail. If I wake up anytime after 5:30am I'm pretty much awake for the day. I also sometimes wake up after 7 but only ever if I am really tired. So I have never tried any of these tips before because I don't have to use them because I have no troubles waking up in the morning. I do however have an alarm set for 6:20am just so I have 40 minutes to read or do what I want in the mornings, although I usually wake up before my alarm.

Tip #1 - Set multiple alarms
Instead of setting 1 alarm for a set time, set 1 about 10 minutes before you have to get up and then set alarms for every 1 or 2 minutes after that. Set these for around 10 or so minutes and hopefully you will wake up. You could set them even earlier if you wanted 15-20 minutes before the time you have to get up so that you can have some spare time to do what you want.

Tip #2 - Put your alarm in a different place
Try putting your alarm whether it be a phone, ipod or whatever on the other side of the room. This means that you have to get up to stop it, using this along with my first tip may be useful because you will have to keep getting up every minute or 2 to turn off your alarm.

Tip #3 - Needing to Pee
If you have a weak bladder I would not suggest using this tip. If you go to bed needing to pee then when you wake up you will have to go to the toilet as quickly as you can. As I said, don't do this if you have a weak bladder.

Tip # 4 - Faux Sleep In
Try setting your alarm half an hour to 1 hour earlier than usual and when it goes off wake up and stop it and then go back to sleep and wake up when your other alarm goes off so it kind of feels like you have had a sleep in when you haven't.

Tip #5 - Using Family
Why not get your family to help? Get them to come and wake you up at the time you need to wake up?

Tip #6 - Go to bed earlier
Try going to bed a bit earlier or don't go on your device right before you go to bed.

Tip #7 - Adjust your sleep cycle
The typical human sleep cycle is 90 minutes so why not try sleeping for either 7 1/2 hours or 9 hours so that you will wake up feeling more refreshed.

I hope that at least 1 of these tips will help you out if not all.
Thanks,
KiwiGirlHelp

Back to School - Starting High School

So, this year is going to be your first year at High School and you are really nervous? Well fear not, because I am here to share some tips.

I started High School last year and thought that I would give some advice to those of you starting High School this year. Some of the advice may only be useful for NZ High Schools but I'm hoping that it will be ok for any High Schools all over the world.

High School may seem scary at first but it really isn't. If the High School you are going to is anything like mine you will have no problems making new friends and finding a group of people to spend lunches with.

I remember my first day last year and I didn't know we had to carry our bags around with us all day, so make sure you know that if your High School is going to be the same. I would suggest putting as little as you can get away with in your bag because carrying around a heavy backpack is definitely not my favourite part of the day. I would suggest only carrying around what you need instead of carrying around stuff you don't need. I would suggest getting a locker if you can (not that I use mine much, but it does come in handy sometimes) because it's a good way to carry any extra books you have that you may need later on in the year. It's also good to store extra pens, pencils and other stationary for when all of your pens and pencils seem to disappear (who doesn't deal with this on a yearly basis).

Another piece of advice I have is to know what subjects you have each day and to organize your bag the night before so that your bag is ready to grab and go in the morning. This saves time in the morning allowing you to have some spare time before you head off to school. Only pack the books you need and don't forget any homework or extra stuff you have to bring as well.

On your first day you probably won't need much so I suggest bringing your pencil case and a refill as your stationary because that is probably all you will need on the first day unless the school has said what other stuff you will need. Over the first few days you will find out what books you need for your subjects and then you can start to bring them.

Being Friendly is really important over the first few days as is getting along with everyone. If you are worried about not making any friends, don't worry because everyone else is probably worried about that too. You will soon find friends in your classes. I found making friends in my class last year really easy. Take advantage of group activities over the first few days especially in subjects such as PE because that way you can work with new people and find out who has similar interests and who are nice people you would be happy to be friends with. If you are nice to everyone I'm sure you will make a bunch of new friends. Of course it really helps if your class is like mine and pretty much everyone all gets along.

My High School has a lot of bake sales so I would suggest always having a little bit of money on you so that you can help out by buying something at the School fundraising bake sales. It's also good to carry around a bit of money anyway just in case you forget your bus card, there's no money on your bus card, you forgot your lunch or anything else that may require a couple of dollars.

Get your teachers to like you, be a good student who listens and does what the teacher asks so that your teachers will like you. If your teachers like you, you will probably find classes more enjoyable because you aren't getting told off and stuff like that. Getting your teachers to like you will also mean they will put good comments on your reports and that the school will know you are a good student. Hey and be sure to make a good first impression.

Being helpful is also important on the first day, help others out if they don't have a pen, pencil or maybe a piece of paper. If they look lost you could help them find their classes and just be helpful in general.

Wear your uniform correctly. if you have one. Make sure you are following the rules around the uniform or dress code. It's not a good idea to break the rules on the first day is it? If you don't have the right colour sandals or whatever, just get your parents to write you a note and sign it so that you don't get in trouble.

Always bring period supplies, majority of girls at High School have had their periods so bringing supplies with you all the time is a good idea because you never know when you or someone else might need a pad or tampon. If you have swimming as part of your PE program I would suggest keeping at least 2 tampons in a kit so that you have 1 for yourself and 1 for someone else if they need one and don't feel comfortable asking the PE teacher or another female student.

Complete all of your work to the best of your ability. Try your hardest in all of your subjects even if you don't like the subject. I don't like science but I still try my hardest and actually do quite well in science.

Set goals. Set goals for your subjects especially if you get points for assessments and stuff. You could set goals such as "to get at least 8/10 points on my Science Test" or "to get at least 90% on my maths test". Setting goals will hopefully help you to strive for excellence and you could even reward yourself if you accomplish your goals. Other goals could be "to be Head Girl" but don't think it will just happen. You have to work hard to achieve your goals so keep trying and do the best work you can.

I could go on and on but let's not make it too long. So I hope these tips help you out for when you start High School. More B2S (Back to School) videos and posts coming soon. I hope...

Back to School - DIY Book Cover Idea

Today I'm sharing some ideas for DIY book covers. I usually stick to plain drawings but I've come up with some ideas and I think I might try some I've got on my list but you'll have to wait and see what I end up doing (assuming I'm going to do a video or post showing you my school supplies for the 2015 school year.

DIY Book Covers
I'm doing these again this year after using the flocked (velvety/fuzzy) book cover for the past 3 years. I think the last time I did DIY book covers was in Year 6 and I'm going into Year 10 this year! For DIY covers you will need the clear book covering and pretty much whatever you want to decorate the cover with. There are many different ways to decorate book covers.
- Drawings (You could draw on white paper and then glue it to the cover and then seal it with clear book covering)
- Chalk Board (you could paint the cover with chalkboard paint and use it as a chalkboard, this wouldn't need to be sealed with clear book covering otherwise it would defeat the purpose.)
- Magazine collage (cut some pictures out of a magazine and glue them on to the cover and then seal with clear book covering)
- Scrapbook (like the magazine collage except with photos of you, your friends, family, pets etc.)
- Photo Frame (make a frame like thing out of paper whether is plain, coloured or patterned and make sure it is the size of the book you are wanting to put it on. Then cover the back of the frame with clear book covering. Now place the frame on the front of your book and then using clear book covering cover the front of the book making sure you leave the top part open so you can put things behind and into the frame. Make sure to get rid of as many bubbles as possible where the 2 layers of clear book covering meet. This is so you can see the pictures behind as clearly as possible. Because you have left the top open you can slip photos and stuff into it or you could even use it as a pocket for notices and stuff or reminders for the day. I will try and do a tutorial for this because it may be hard to understand from just reading.
- Painting (You could paint the cover completely white and then when that is dry you could do a nice painting or something on it and then when that is dry seal it with the clear book covering)
- Quote Collage (you could print out photos of your favourite quotes and then make a collage. Make sure to seal with clear book covering)
- Music Cover (If you are musical like myself you could take a page of your favourite music to play and then put that on the front cover, I think it would look neat if you made it look really old with tea bags and tearing little pieces off the edges. I may also do a tutorial for this one because I think I might do it if I can find a piece of sheet music I don't need anymore.

The options are endless when you make your own book coverings. Comment letting me know your favourite idea or something you do to make your book covers unique. I will try and get some tutorials up whether that is here or on my YouTube channel I don't know but I'll try and get some up either way.

Anyway I hope you liked these ideas and I will share some other ideas for you stationary soon and I will also try and make some tutorials...

Video Uploading Schedule

Here it is! A schedule after just over a year of uploading videos. I am not making this definite yet though but just a general idea on when to expect videos. My ability to film, edit and upload videos is affected by things such as...
-Homework (less)
-Exams (less)
-Studying (less)
-Holidays (more)
-Home Alone (more)
-Friends (less if I have friends over maybe more if I were to tell my bestie because she is kinda ok with talking about periods)
-Computer Problems (less)
-Busy, Family Activities and stuff (less unless I am able to stay home alone)
-Requests (my lack of or an abundance of requests will affect the amount of videos I make)

I remember last year I had like a 3 month break and I'm hoping that won't happen again this year so I think that if I make a schedule maybe it won't be as likely to happen but I don't really know or not so I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Anyway for my video upload schedule I will try and post at least 1 video on each of the days although sometimes I won't be able to upload on one of the days for whatever reason but I will try as hard as I can to try and upload at least 1 video on each of the days. There will also be extra videos in the holidays on other days if I am staying at my dads.

Schedule (Week Days)
Mondays - No videos unless I'm at my dads in the holidays or for some other reason
Tuesdays - At least 1 video although there may be more then 1 depending on how busy I've been
Wednesdays - No videos unless I'm at my dads in the holidays or for some other reason
Thursdays - At least 1 video although there may be more then 1
Fridays -  No videos unless I'm at my dads

Schedule (Weekends)
You can probably expect some videos every second weekend but I really don't know how many videos and what day whether that be Saturday or Sunday. Every second weekend will mean next weekend and then 2 weekends after that etc. The amount of videos in the weekend really depends on how many videos I've filmed and haven't already uploaded.

Anyway, I hope this gives you a general idea on when I will upload. This is just a trial schedule to see if it works for me. I will probably try it out for a month or 2 and then decide if this schedule is working for me.

This Schedule will start next week

Back to School - Cute DIY Stationary Ideas

Hi, so today I have some cute ideas to make your stationary for 2015 really cute. I like to buy stationary and make it cute because it makes me happy. I know I'm making DIY book coverings for this year. I will hopefully make a video and/or a post showing you my school supplies for this year. I hope to possibly give my stationary a theme but I know that I'll probably want to try as many of my ideas as possible and I'll end up with one big mumble jumble of stationary.

Anyway, let's get started with the ideas...

Pencils
-You could wrap them in patterned tape of some sort.
-You could use you book covering to wrap them so they match your books. I usually use a thin strip on the ends of my pencils so I know they are my pencils.
-You could make cute little pencil toppers with pipe cleaners.
-You could glue pom poms to the ends of your pencils as pencil toppers.
-You could tie shortish ribbons to the ends of your pencils, you could tie them in bows.
-You could glue lace onto your pencil ends.
-You could paint them white and draw on them with felts or whatever when the paint has dried.
-You could paint them (striped, 1 colour, spotty etc.), You could use nail polish to paint them.
-You could make a drawing out of them, like draw a picture on a piece of paper and then cut it into strips wide enough to wrap around the pencil vertically and then when you put your pencils in the right order they kind of make a picture.
-You could decorate with small stickers

Pens (there isn't as much you can do with pens)
-You could use a thin strip of your book covering to wrap around the middle.
-You could decorate with small stickers
-and I don't really have any other ideas, you'll just have to wait and see if I show you my stationary for 2015.

Rulers (I say the centre but just put them down the part where the numbers and mm lines aren't so that you can still use the ruler otherwise it defeats the purpose)
-For my ruler I usually just use a strip of my patterned book cover down the center.
-You could stick some small stickers down the centre of it.
-You could stick a thin strip of ribbon down the centre.
-If your ruler has a hole on the end you could tie a ribbon onto it.

Scissors
-I usually just tie a bow onto the handles.
-You could put some small stickers on the handles.

Erasers
-If it has a little cardboard case, I would suggest decorating it with stickers, patterned book covering etc.
-If it doesn't have a little cardboard case I don't think you should do anything to the eraser because it may affect it's ability to erase stuff. Although you could always use another pencil and dot a design onto one side.

Pencil Sharpeners
-If it is one with the little bin thing under it, you could decorate the little bin somehow
-If it is just a normal pencil sharpener, you could just put a sticker or some book covering on the flat side (the back?)

That is all the stationary items I can think of right now but if you have any ideas you would like to add, comment letting me know what they are.

Thanks,

Back to School - Period Kit

Hi, today I have a period kit for all of you who have had your period for a while and have some idea on your flow and when to expect it. This is more for girls whose periods have started to become more regular.

Pad User
If you use only pads then here is my suggest for what to bring. The first thing you have to think about is how many times you change your pad at school and bring that many pads for your flow plus 1 extra just in case. I would also suggest to bring others pads in the absorbency above your flow type just in case.

+ Pads for your flow (how many times you change your pad during the school day)
+1-2 extra Pads for your flow (Just in case a friend needs one or you go somewhere after school)
+1-2 Pads in the flow above yours

So that's what I suggest for pads to bring, if you use pads I would also suggest that you bring some baby wipes or feminine wipes to clean up because pads can sometimes get messy.

Tampons
For Tampons you pretty much need the same as what you do for pads but also 1 or 2 tampons in the flow below yours in case your flow is lighter than usual. I would also suggest you bring 1 or 2 pads for your flow just in case a friend needs one or you need one for something.

Pad and Tampon User
For a pad and tampon user just bring a mixture so instead of say 4 pads or 4 tampons bring 2 pads and 2 tampons.

Car Trip Period Kit (Request)

This was a video request I had but I was supposed to stay home alone for like 2 or 3 hours today but I didn't sadly and I had a list of videos to film but wasn't able to because I didn't get to stay home alone. So I thought I would just make a blog post instead because it will mean I can get it done sooner although I will try and film the video to go with this sometime next week hopefully.

So it's a period kit for a car trip, regular flow, pad user, 5 day car trip. Well this isn't really a period kit but more of a general idea on what to take.

For Pads...
-Overnight Pads (1 for each night and then I would recommend taking 1 for each 4-8ish hours of being in a car that way you won't have to worry about changing it because it will hopefully absorb enough for you to not worry about it when you are in the car. However if you are travelling in the car for less than 4 hours just pack the kind of pads you usually use.)
So that's 1 for each night and 1 for each 4-8 hours travel.

-Normal Pads (Pack however many you usually use in a day multiplied by 5 because you are gone for 5 days. Also pack a couple extras.
So (amount of pads used in a day) x 5 + a couple extra pads

An alternative for pads is to pack 1 packet of Overnight Pads and either 1 big packet of regular pads or 2 packets of small regular pads. And maybe a pack of wipes and a small pack of liners and a small hand sanitizer.

Optional Items
- Wipes (Libra Get Fresh Wipes or a small packet of baby wipes)
- Hand sanitizer
- Tampons (maybe just pack a couple in case you go swimming or something and you want to try one out)
- Sanitary Bags (just in case there is no where to put your used products

Thanks, hope this helped

Back to School - Pre-Period Kit

So it's a new school year and you haven't had your period yet. You should probably consider making a school kit especially if you are older than 12 or 13 and have all the signs of puberty apart from you period. I would recommend for girls of any age above 8 or 9 to carry at least 2 pads in their bag just in case but if you are getting older you may want to make a more complex kit. Although your period kit can be as simple as 2 pads or as complex as you want. Here is some help for any of you who haven't had you period and want to make a kit. I will also make a post for period kits for girls who have had their periods.

So... let me get started before I get carried away by talking about other stuff.

Pads
For pads I would recommend a minimum of 2 pads. You could carry 1 but it would be better to carry 2 just in case you get it earlier in the day. I would also recommend having an extra pad incase a friend needs one. You may also want to carry a variety of different absorbencies but what you think is heavy may not actually be heavy or whatever but I would say it is better to carry heavy absorbency pads so that they last you a bit longer.

+ 2-4 Pads, I would suggest regular absorbency pads
+ 1 spare pad in case a friend needs one (Optional)
+ 1-2 Pads of a heavy absorbency (Optional)

Tampons
For Tampons I would suggest you bring at least 1 but it is completely optional because maybe you aren't allowed to use them or don't want to. I say to pack one though just in case you have to go swimming or something. If you do make sure to get the lowest absorbency you can find.

+1-2 Light/Mini Tampons (Optional)

Extras
All of these extras are optional so are just ideas that may help you

+ Libra Get Fresh Wipes or other wipes safe for use down there (Optional)
+ Sanitary Bags (Optional)
+ Spare pair of underwear (Optional)
+ Zip Lock Bag (Optional)
+ Small Hand Sanitizer (Optional)
+ Pain Medication (optional)
+ Tampon Instructions (Optional)
+ Small mirror (Optional) (for if you need help finding where to insert your tampon or to check make up or whatever)

Now you just have to pick what you want in your kit and find a cute little cosmetic bag to put it in.

Back to School - Boyfriends

If you were on LibraGirl near the beginning of October last year you may have seen my post about boyfriends. I think it included some important messages so here is what I posted.

Hi it's KiwiGirlHelp here. I am 14 and have never had a boyfriend. Since I first joined libragirl I've seen plenty of girls say stuff like "I'm 13 and I've never had a boyfriend" and "I'm 12 and have never been kissed". Why does everyone seem to want a boyfriend? Sure, I kinda want a boyfriend but I'm not desperate or worried. I think that girls should just wait until the right boy comes along at the right time. Instead of being desperate and worrying about looking perfect whenever you are around boys why not just be yourself and find a boy who likes you for who you are. If you act fake and you get asked out, imagine what the guy would think when you start acting like your normal self. He would be confused and might even break up with you because you aren't the person he thought you were. Also, don't fall for a guy because you think he's hot or cute or good looking, find a guy who treats you the right way and doesn't care about your looks. Would you rather go out with a hot guy who treats you horribly and just uses you or a guy who may not be the best looking but has a heart of gold, treats you the best way he could and likes you for you? I know for sure I would pick the guy who likes me for me.  So before you fall for a random hot guy, get to know him and find out if he likes you for you and treats you nicely. There is more to worry about then getting a boyfriend at this age. School, Friends, Family and making the most of your years before adulthood.  Now I'm not completely against relationships at this age but make sure it is real and not a fake forced relationship, make sure that you both like each other for who they are as a person and not just looks, because personality is more important than looks.

So yeah, that is my opinion on boyfriends. I posted that on LibraGirl in October 2014 and I am writing this post on December 13th and scheduling it for January so I'm not rushing through my back to school series. So therefore some of this may change because I am hoping to ask the guy I like out especially if our group of friends organizes something I can go to and see him. But I probably won't be able to ask him out until I go back to school so the fact I don't have a boyfriend will probably be the same but I will let you know what happens when I do ask.

Having a boyfriend shouldn't define you as a person. Not having a boyfriend doesn't make you less of a person. My friend at the start of last year when she was 12 and I was 13, she was really surprised when I told her I had never had a boyfriend. There isn't an age which means you have to have had a boyfriend. You can wait as long as you want. Don't let not having a boyfriend annoy you because you aren't the only one. Your age doesn't matter. Don't have a bunch of relationships with people you don't even like just so you can say you have a boyfriend. It won't make you feel as great as if you wait until you find the right person who you like for who they are and they like you for who you are.

Thanks,

Back to School Series

I'm starting a Back to School series this month and am hoping to have a mixture of Back to School related posts and videos. I'm really hoping that this series will go well. Also, check out my 2014 Back to School videos as well because there might be something there that will help you as well. I have a playlist on my channel of all of my Back to School videos and will be adding this years videos to that as well.

2015!

I can't believe that 2015 is already here. It's a fresh year and I am here to share some goals for my channel for the new year. Last year went so fast and was a great year for me especially at school although every year is a good school year for me but I am really happy with my achievements from last year so hopefully this year will be a great year too. Hopefully 2015 will be a great year when it comes to my YouTube channel.

My first goal for my YouTube channel this year is to get into a schedule for filming and uploading because I have never really had one and would like to start so you can kind of know when my videos will be up and I think this will also help with my time management skills.

I also hope to finally get to 100 subscribers, My original goal when I first started my channel was to get 50 subs by my birthday which was in June and 100 by my one year anniversary. So let's see if you can get me to 100 subs this year. It would mean so much to me!

I would also like to try and improve my video quality this year by speaking louder which will happen if I am home alone more often but now that I am getting older hopefully that won't be an issue.

Extend my knowledge. I would like to extend my knowledge even further this year by hopefully asking my mum if I can get a menstrual cup or 2 and also maybe some cloth pads by actual sellers and not just my handmade ones that she doesn't know about. I would like to be able to help you if you want to use cloth and cups as well as if you use disposables so that way I can help even more girls.

Another thing I would like to do this year is organise a giveaway to show how thankful I am for all of my amazing subscribers! You all rock! If I was to do a giveaway, I am thinking of doing a small cloth pad set but it is more likely to be pantyliners if I want to do a giveaway with my homemade cloth pads and pantyliners.

More personal videos. By this I mean videos where you can get to know about me and my hobbies/interests. These include videos such as my song covers and craft tutorials. I may also think about doing some tag videos and stuff.

That is all my goals for this new year

Thanks,
KiwiGirlHelp
